500gb External Hard Drive Firewire 800

I'm studying sound engineering and has acquired a mixture of liquid and an M-Audio ProFire 2626 interface, which requires FireWire 400. The only problem is that my iMac has only one FireWire 800 port (I have my disk External Hard Drive connected). I have a pin to 6 pin converter 9 and, if necessary.
