External Hard Drive Lego

I just downloaded Steam and Team Fortress 2 on my external hard drive, but when I found the pixel shader graphics card did not conform to code, I searched and downloaded emulator at least one person has asked to work with TF2 and many Lego Star Wars. if Directory issue I think has something to do with the hard drive. Is it a USB hard drive? If so may not be able to play outdoor play. you can reinstall steam tf2 and primary hard drive. If this is not an option that could be an external FireWire hard disk.
